HI, great guide. I am thinking about making a 55monk, but i am not sure what second proff i should get.
Mo/n?
Mo/W?
Mo/Me?
Mo/E?
Which one would be best for soloing/2man smites and aatxes runs?

The only thing I find confusing is this it is about the scalp armor I always keep mine in devine.Do you need to put one on your chest instead of doubleing up on my feet where I put my smiting runes.
Quote:
You should be wearing a full Ascetic set with five superior monk runes, one of each and double up on the one of your choice (take the cheapest, since runes don’t stack). Remember, your aim is to bring your health as low as possible, therefore don’t use a superior vigor. The ascetic set will give you a nice energy bonus, you shouldn’t be wearing anything else, since armor does not matter at all with this build (you’ll be taking 5 damage per hit whether you have ascestic or censor/judge’s).
As for the scalp, you should use the one corresponding to your highest attribute, to save points (if no attribute is maxed) or to maximize the effect (if your highest attribute is maxed).
I highly recommand you place your four different runes on your chest, arm, leg and foot designs, and the doubled one on your scalp (it’ll help if you have to change the scalp).

The bottom line is you need 5 superior monk runes, one of each type. You can have them wherever you want, as long as theres 1 smiting, 1 divine, 1 protect, and 1 healing. You then get to chose one other superior monk rune (to put anywhere.)

I was thinking...
please correct me if I'm wrong... you can't revert back (by doing a quest) to your "old" 2nd class after doing a "XXXX Path" series quests? Right?
BTW: Great tut - thanks ^^

Yes, you can switch back and forth and keep your old skills.

Just so I don't muf this up as I have 2 superior smiting runes.I got one on my feet can I double up on that one or would it be best to place it on my chest. For the rest Devine is in my scalp,Healing on the arms and protection on legs. There is nothing on the chest piece yet.I know I am posting this here a lot but I don't want to start another thread. Thanks

Um... you can only put 1 rune per piece of armor, any rune you put on after replaces the old one.

Another idea
I think I've found another not-bad farming place. It's just outside Camp Raknor (in Snake Dance). Its fairly easy (Blessed Griffons), but there are few things to keep in mind:
1) watch for Azure Shadows - they popup out of nowhere and use:
- Signet of Judgment (it's not that dangerous since the damage does not ignore PS)
- Holy Wrath (same as above)
- Retribution (same)
As the damage caused by these spells doesn't ignore the presence of PS they are fairly easy to kill though
2) Stone Summit Heretic - these are absolute killers (Shatter Enchantment) if you don't have Spellbreaker on you - just enter and exit the area until none of them are present in the griffon area to the west (hold CTRL to check this).
3) Think about not taking Zealot's Fire - you will have to spam HB as griffons hit really hard (+Holy Wrath)
Have fun and - of course - post your comments

Awesome place really this, i've been there myself alot and
making lots of quick and pretty easy money from these runs!
It's easy solo work, it's a nice long run /walk if you go all the way up to the
top of snake dance, and it's somewhere different if your sick of seeing
the underworld and the desert farming areas.
The drops arent as frequent as hydras /minatours /trolls and such but it's
well worth a go if you fancy somewhere and something different.
Also, If your a fan of rockshots, as we all are down in the desert!
check out the sand drakes and a worm or maybe two around about
elona reach area "Diviners Ascent" Some days it's easy money there
too but other days it's kinda fun with my monk! Carefull around the
scarabs though, they come outa nowhere sometimes, :P...

Nope man, who said that?
If you think about SS then you should know that you'll NEVER be as good as pure necro at it.
The best combos for Mo/ are Mo/W (for Bonetti's Defense), Mo/Me (Mantra of Concentration/Mantra of Resolve/Arcane Echo), Mo/E (Glyph of Renewal/Glyph of Sacrifice/Aftershock/Flame Burst).

I have just started soloing the UW with my Mo/mes as well. Currently use SoJ for damage with Blessed Aura, Power Drain and Mantra of Resolve along with the regular 55hp skills. Any help/tips appreciated.

Hmmm I gave up soloing UW after a few tries... No, not my death was the problem, but the not-sufficient damage I dealt using ZF+SoJ (cant use Balthazar's Aura bacause enemies will scatter and GREATLY reduce its effectiveness). Aatxes will actually offset it with their regen - so I gave up and started duo with SS/SV Necro - there is still much to learn for me but I'm doing Aatxes/Darknesses/Smites already without much problems

Guys, in all honesty, soloing UW is not worth it.
Not only is it risky, it's also a waste of time, if you are doing it for the drops that is. Yes, if you solo, all ecto drops are yours. However, if you do it with a necro, you'll have twice if not three times as many ectos in the same timespan.
